CAS was established in the early 1960s. The society welcomes anyone interested in stars, planets, galaxies, the universe and all the associated kit. They have approximately 25 current members who range from newer members just beginning to find their way around the night sky to members who have been observing the stars for many years and are keen to pass on their knowledge. Some of their members are keen astro-photographers, and that forms an important part of our activities. Some of their images are show-cased in the Gallery of this site.
