You may also be interested to visit other places of astronomical interest in this area. Please find below a couple of links:

Stour Astronomical Society

The Stour Astronomical Society was established in March 2003 by Dr Kevin Marshall and Geoff Burling. Its main aim is to fill a void in the county of Suffolk where there is a lot of interest in astronomy but very few places to go and meet other amateur astronomers. Also members can listen to talks given by expert speakers, receive advice on what equipment you perhaps would like to buy and what to observe in the night sky. Members are drawn from nearby towns and villages in the Stour Valley area.

LYRA – Lowestoft & Yarmouth Regional Astronomers

Whether you are a beginner or more advanced in the world of the Stars, Planets, The Moon, The Sun or Deep Sky objects, LYRA doors are always open to you. They are a friendly club that offers everyone a chance to learn and share more about their love of all things Astronomical.

If you are new to Astronomy no equipment is needed to come along and enjoy the night sky!

THE ATHENAEUM OBSERVATORY

The green dome which graces the roof of Bury St Edmunds’ Athenaeum building is an observatory constructed by the Victorians in 1859, the year of Donati’s spectacular comet. The astronomical dome contains a functioning telescope and its construction was overseen by George Biddell Airy and Lord Arthur Hervey.

They welcome members of all ages and experience, from enthusiastic novices to seasoned stargazers.
